Are you aged 55 +, living in the Parramatta area (Western Sydney)?

Do you want to make friends with your PC or Apple Mac or laptop computer with others your own age?

Do you want to increase your computer skills or pass your skills on to others?

If so, Parramatta Computer Pals for Seniors is for you.

We don't teach you job related skills. We leave that to TAFE or a community college.

However, with gentle guidance by computer savvy seniors, you can learn to:

  • confidently gain basic computer skills
  • use email efficiently to contact family and friends
  • smarten up, organise and email your photos as attachments
  • use the Internet to:
    • make free phone calls overseas
    • find out where your ancestors lived
    • learn something new online
    • make knitting patterns and more..
  • make Christmas cards, or
  • increase the effectiveness of your voluntary activities.

You can also get to know other seniors who share your interests and find out how they solve their computing problems.

Invitation to join Parramatta CPS

In January 2012 we will celebrate our fifth birthday. The club now runs 10 hour courses (2 hours per week) all day Monday to Thursday, with short special interest courses on Fridays, and currently has well over 200 financial members. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced computer user wanting a greater variety of skills, there will be something for you. If you are considering volunteering, maybe you'd like to be a training buddy, help us with our administration or consider training.

You are most welcome to visit the club training room on Level 2 of the Council Chambers Building on Mondays to Thursdays between 10.00am and 3.00pm in school terms to find out about joining the club and participating in classes. Between terms, you can contact us by phone or email. For further information about fees, check the Membership page.

You can download the Application form as an RTF document (90 KB) so that you can open it in a word processing application of your choice.

We run classes of six, using new systems with flat screen monitors on Windows XP, Windows 7 or Vista platform. Comprehensive course manuals are provided to each student.

You are also welcome to come to one of our free monthly information mornings on the 3rd Friday morning of each month. Check the Meetings page for more details.
